Cara Pharmacy Professional Brush Set Review

Hello Lovlies! Welcome back to Sense Of Beauty! Today's blogpost will be featuring the highly coveted Cara Pharmacy Professional Makeup Brush Set.

I have included pictures of each of the brushes along with my review of the brushes!

The makeup brushes are available in both Black & Pink. They are available for €29.50.
If you would like to purchase your very own set, click here!

Let's get started on the review! :)

1.The Packaging

The brushes are sold in this black box. On the outside of the box, the colour of the brushes is pictured; because I bought the black brushes, there were black brushes on the box. It also states along the bottom of the box whether they are black or pink. It's easy to decipher what colour you have picked up. There are a few pictures of the makeup brushes on the outside of the box.

I love this feature on the box. For anyone who has difficulty figuring out which brush is for what, this is perfect for you! The box states the name of each brush along with it's function. Each brush has been given a name; this can be found at the bottom of each handle, e.g. CO1. Of course, these brushes don't have to be used for the functions listed, you can use the brushes for whatever you like :)

Inside the box, you will get this Storage Case and inside the Storage Case will be your 12 brushes. If you purchase the pink brushes, your storage case will be pink.

I really like the Storage Case. On the outside of the case, 'Cara Pharmacy & Beauty' is printed. The case itself, feels really nice quality. It feels sturdy. The storage case has great stitching on the border. It looks very professional.
I think the storage case is a great idea! The storage case can be used to hold your brushes on your vanity desk or when travelling. I like to put my face brushes in one of the sides and the eye brushes in the other. When travelling this is ideal! It holds 12 brushes. These 12 brushes can be used for all your makeup needs when your on holiday. When travelling, the storage case will protect your brushes from becoming damaged too.

2. The Brushes

12 Makeup Brushes come in the set. These 12 brushes can be used from the face to the eyes and lips. Each brush is multi-functional.

Let's take a look at each of the brushes! :)

1. CO1 - Flat Foundation Brush

Cara's suggestion: Liquid and compact foundation

The first brush is the Flat Foundation Brush. I personally don't like using flat foundation brushes to apply my foundation but I was pleasantly surprised when I used this brush. The bristles are very soft and blend your foundation so nicely! I really enjoyed this foundation brush because it's slightly thicker than other flat foundation brushes. This doesn't have to be used just for foundation, you can use it for applying concealer or primer to your face. There was no shedding with this brush.

2. C02 - Stippler Brush

Cara's suggestion: For liquid or compact foundation blending

Another soft brush! Stipple brushes are one of my favourite type of makeup brush! They can be used for many different things; blending foundation, applying face powder, applying cream blush, blending blush out. I used this brush to apply a W7 Cheek Stain and it blended it out great. I enjoy using stipple brushes to blend in liquid foundations and I think this brush would be perfect for that! Stipple brushes give an airbrushed finish to your foundation. Stipple brushes are also great for blending out your contour and blush; ensuring they aren't so harsh. When I first used the brush, a few bristles shed but I've used it a few times now and no more bristles have shed.

3. C03 - Large Blush Brush

Cara's suggestion: For contouring with bronzer or blusher

This brush is one of my favourite from the set. The bristles are soft and densely packed. I have been loving to apply my NYC Sunny Bronzer with this brush. It's perfect for applying your contour to under your cheek bones and the edges of your face. It works really nice when blending your contour out too. There was no shedding with this brush.

4. C04 - Kabuki Foundation/Powder Brush

Cara's suggestion: For contouring with foundation or powder

Surprisingly, the bristles on this brush are very soft. I have to admit, I did have my suspicions before using this brush. I have tried similar brushes to these and unfortunately all their bristles were hard. The brush applied foundation lovely. The pointed tip allowed me to blend the foundation in smaller areas like around my nose. This brush would be great for applying your concealer. You could also use this brush for applying a cream contour.

5. C05 - Wide Bristle Eyeshadow Brush

Cara's suggestion: Eyeshadow application

Another favourite of mine! I have been loving this brush for my concealer application. It's great at blending out concealer. The bristles are very soft which is ideal for your delicate undereye area. This brush would also be great for concealing any problem areas, e.g. spots/pimples. You could also use this brush for eyeshadow application, especially cream eyeshadows.

6. C06 - Concealer Brush

Cara's suggestion: Concealer application

I really like applying cream eyeshadows/bases with this brush. I will link a YT video I recently posted using a Maybelline Colour Tattoo. This brush is perfect for applying the Maybelline Colour Tattoos. This brush would be great for concealer application too. The bristles are very soft and great for applying concealer under the eye. Between this brush and the previous brush, I prefer the C05 for concealer application and the C06 for cream eyeshadow application.

7. C07 - Angle Eyeliner Brush

Cara's suggestion: Angled brush for easy gel and eyeliner application

I enjoy using the brush for filling in my eyebrows. I like to use this brush with powder brow products to fill in my eyebrows. I don't like to use these brushes when applying gel eyeliner as I find it can be very stiff. This brush would be great for applying eyeshadow onto your lower lashline. The bristles are very soft on this brush and they didn't shed.

C08 - Large Powder Brush

Another great brush in the set! The bristles are very soft and did not shed at all. I like to use this brush to apply my face powder. It applies the face powder nicely and doesn't cake your face powder on your face. If you are trying to achieve a 'bronzed look', this brush would be great to apply bronzer all over your face too.

9. C09 - Lip Brush

When I first seen this brush I instantly thought 'gel eyeliner'. I was surprised to see it's name as 'lip brush'. This brush can be used for both. The bristles are long and skinny which would be perfect for gel eyeliner application. These are the type of brushes I like to use to apply gel eyeliner. This would also be great for applying lipstick as it is skinny and very soft. This brush is very precise and is perfect for more specific makeup application. None of the bristles shed when I was using this brush.

10. C10 - Small Compact Bristle Eyeshadow Brush

This brush is a great addition to your brush collection. The bristles are very soft and did not shed. I really enjoy using this brush for applying eyeshadow into my outer corner and crease. The slanted edge on the brush is perfect for applying shadow into the outer corner and crease. You could also use this brush to apply a highlight shade to your browbone.

11. C11 - Round Kabuki Eyeshadow Brush

Cara's suggestion: Great blender brush

This is my FAVOURITE brush in the entire set! This brush is absolutely AMAZING! I love using this brush for blending an eyeshadow into my crease as the transition shade. This brush is also great for all-round blending of your eyeshadows. Another great use for this brush would be blending your undereye concealer. The bristles are SUPER soft and would be great for your undereye area. A great all-rounder!! I would recommend buying this set for just this brush! I LOVE IT!!

12. C12 - Pointed Kabuki Eyeshadow and Blender Brush

Cara's suggestion: Great for inner eyes and under eye blending.

This brush is similar to the previous brush but the bristles are tapered. This brush is great for applying an eyeshadow into your outer corner and crease. You can also use this brush to apply a highlight shade into your inner tearduct. This brush would be great for applying concealer to any problematic areas too.

3. My Final Thoughts

I 100% recommend this brush set! If you get the chance to pick one up either in one of the Cara Pharmacies or online, definitely do! It is a great investment for your makeup brush collection! The brushes feel so luxurious and apply your makeup flawlessly. €29.50 is an excellent price to pay for 12 makeup brushes, that's working out at around €2.45 per brush!! Whether you're a professional makeup artist or just looking for a nice set to apply your makeup, I recommend these! I am honestly contemplating buying another set just to have a duplicate of some of my favourite brushes from the set!

I really hope you enjoyed today's blogpost!
