Hey guys! Welcome back to Sense Of Beauty! Last Monday I posted part 1 of our family trip to England. It was a vlog from our first two days in London which we spent shopping in the Lakeside Shopping Centre & exploring Legoland. Today's vlog will include days 3-5 (although there wasn't much footage from day 4). We continued exploring Legoland, travelled to Great Yarmouth and walked the city of London haha!

Hey! Welcome back to Sense Of Beauty! Today I am sharing my view on the notorious charcoal peel off face masks that have taken the beauty community by storm!
For the past couple of months, black peel off masks have been a massive phenomenon in the world of beauty. It started with just being applied to your nose, forehead and chin to your entire face and I have even seen some videos on youtube of people applying it all over their bodies - oh no!
I was patiently waiting for a peel off mask to arrive in work and on the one delivery day I am off, we receive them! :'( When I arrived to work the next day, they were all gone </3. Thankfully, we received more in on our next delivery day and I finally picked one up for myself and my sister Róisín (she still has to try hers). It was sitting in my skincare basket for about a month before I finally plucked up the courage to try it.
The face mask I purchased was less than 2 euro - an absolute BARGAIN! It came with two-parts; a gel cleanser and the face mask. Step one involved you washing your face with warm water and the gel cleanser. I usually use the Clarisonic on my face daily so I wet my face with warm water, applied the gel cleanser and then cleansed my face with the Clarisonic. I washed off the gel cleanser and towel dried my face. Washing your face before applying the face mask ensures all dirt is gone and your pores are open for easy removal of any impurities. Step two involved you distributing the face mask evenly all over your face. I usually apply face masks with an old foundation brush so that is what I applied it with. The instructions on the mask said to leave the mask dry for 15 minutes, I left it on for about 45 minutes before I felt it was dry enough to peel off.
I have been told that I have sensitive skin although I think I am in denial and don't believe this. When I applied the gel cleanser, my skin started going red and slightly stung. Of course, I wasn't going to let this minor thing set me back so I continued on. I applied the face mask and I immediately smelt 'nail polish remover'. My eyes began to water and sting a little, it was a similar feeling to the Benefit Instant Wipe Out face masks. To avoid this, I recommend to close your eyes for the duration that is instructed on the face mask. You are supposed to leave the mask on for 15 minutes but I needed to leave it on for about 45 minutes. It was too wet to have been peeled off any earlier. And now to the fun part of peeling off the mask... I almost blessed myself and said a prayer before I started to peel off the mask. I have watched many videos of people using these peel off masks so I was not naive to the fact of how painful they can be. I started with my chin and began peeling. The sorest part to peel off was definitely my cheeks, oh god I didn't think that I would make it through! Once I had the cheeks free of the mask, the rest of my face wasn't as sore. If you would like to watch my initial thoughts and reaction of the face mask, please watch the video below! This is the video I documented on snapchat for the girls! I hope you enjoy the pain I experienced haha!
The results? For a face mask that was below 2 euro, my expectations weren't held very high. Number 1, I was genuinely gobsmacked that the mask actually dried and peeled off. I closely examined the face mask once I peeled it off and I could see some dots in the mask, I am hoping that it did remove some impurities from my face. My face was super smooth, I'm not too sure if that's because I received a free face wax when peeling off the mask haha! Would I recommend it? YES! Once you mentally prepare yourself for the slight pain you will experience when peeling off the mask, you will really enjoy it! I really hope you enjoyed today's blogpost and video! It's a different type of blogpost but I really enjoyed writing it, especially re-watching my reactions haha! I have a competition of my facebook page, make sure to enter!
